CEENR Universal Battery Review: One Battery for ALL Your Power Tools?

If you’re a woodworker like me, there’s a good chance your shop looks a little something like this:

You have a DeWalt drill, a Ryobi sander, maybe a Makita-compatible tool, and before you know it, you’ve got a whole corner of your shop dedicated to battery chargers.

Different batteries. Different chargers. Different headaches.

I finally decided to see if there was a better way.

The Problem With Multiple Tool Brands

Most of us don’t buy all of our tools from a single manufacturer. We buy the best tool for the job, whatever brand that happens to be.

The downside?

  • Multiple charging stations
  • Multiple battery platforms
  • More clutter in the shop
  • More money tied up in batteries

So when I heard about the CEENR PDnation Universal Battery System, I had to put it to the test.

What Is the CEENR Universal Battery?

The CEENR PDnation system is designed to work across multiple 18V and 20V power tool platforms using interchangeable adapters.

Instead of buying separate batteries for each brand, the idea is simple:

One battery. Multiple tools.

According to CEENR, the PDnation system can work with over 1,600 tools across multiple brands using brand-specific adapters.

Compatible brands include:

  • DeWalt
  • Ryobi
  • Makita
  • Milwaukee
  • Bosch
  • Craftsman
  • Porter Cable
  • Black & Decker
  • Worx
  • Einhell

My Real-World Test

In my video, I tested the battery with tools I actually use in my workshop.

Ryobi Test

The first test was with a Ryobi-compatible adapter.

I verified the tool worked with the factory battery first before swapping to the CEENR setup.

Result?

โœ… It worked.

Makita-Compatible Test

I don’t currently own Makita tools, but I do have several Woodstarter tools that I’ve been told use Makita-style batteries.

After attaching the adapter:

โœ… Success again.

DeWalt Test

Finally, I tested the DeWalt adapter.

Would it work?

It slid into place and powered the tool without issue.

โœ… Three for three.

More Than Just a Tool Battery

One feature I wasn’t expecting to use as much as I liked was the built-in USB-C charging capability.

The PDnation Pro can function as a portable power bank.

That means you can charge:

  • Your phone
  • Tablets
  • USB-C accessories
  • Even laptops

using the same battery you’re already carrying to the jobsite. CEENR states that the battery features bidirectional USB-C charging and can recharge in approximately 90 minutes.

For contractors, DIYers, and woodworkers working away from outlets, that’s a pretty handy bonus.

Is It Worth It?

I think this battery system makes the most sense if you:

โœ” Own Multiple Tool Brands

If your shop has evolved over time and you’ve accumulated tools from several manufacturers, this can help reduce charger clutter.

โœ” Want a Cleaner Charging Setup

One battery platform means fewer chargers taking up valuable workspace.

โœ” Need Backup Power

The USB-C charging capability gives you a portable power bank that’s already part of your tool kit.

โœ” Like Trying Innovative Solutions

The concept of a universal battery system has generated a lot of discussion among tool enthusiasts because of its potential to simplify battery management.
